Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is the use of whole plants, plant parts (flower, leaf, bark, root) and the combination of different botanicals to elicit a particular response in the body. This is not a new practice or an alternative to medicine but the root (no pun intended) of all medical systems, both historic and currently practiced throughout the world.
The practice of herbal medicine is informed both by the legacy of knowledge handed down through generations of herbalist as well as the clinical and research data on the effects of the specific compounds in certain plants on the human body. The “active ingredients” in most pharmaceuticals are usually derived from or are a synthesized form of these botanical compounds.
Here at Center Medicine we draw our treatment strategies from all available sources. With a custom pharmacy of over 150 different herbs, we can formulate individual and personalized blends to match the specific needs of our patients
